For 20-21 updates, please see parent emails.

Information below reflects Pre-COVID procedure.

School day

The school day commences at 8.45 am and ends at 3.15 pm.  A whistle is blown in the yard at 8.40 am as a signal for the children to go to their classes.  The school cannot accept any responsibility for pupils on the site before 8.35 am and after 3.25 pm unless they are taking part in school activities.
We consider punctuality extremely important and we would urge all parents to ensure that their child arrives on time so that the start of lessons is not disrupted.  We understand however, that sometimes delays are unavoidable and would, in these circumstances, prefer children to arrive late rather than miss the whole session.
The school lunch hour is between 12.15 pm and 1.15 pm.

Assembly & collective worship

All children are involved in a daily act of collective worship, which is broadly Christian in nature but which recognises religious beliefs and festivals of other cultures.  We teach the children to respect the views and beliefs of others.  Please note that parents do have the right to withdraw their child from collective worship. Please contact Mrs Hill, Headteacher if you do not want your child to take part.

Holidays during term time
Leave of Absence during Term Time.
Any Leave of Absence requests which are not classed as exceptional circumstances, or do not meet the current Local National Average Percentage of 96.3% will be considered for a Local Authority Fixed Penalty Notice. This will happen regardless of whether a School Leave of Absence Form as been completed or not.
Currently Fixed Penalty Notices stand at £60 per parent per child, if paid within 21 days, rising to £120 per parent per child if paid within 28 days.

Attendance
Our target for this year’s overall attendance is 96.5%
Parents, you have to help us to achieve this. Attendance does matter.  Good Attendance is vital if your child is to benefit fully from their education.  Good attendance is promoted each week and awards are presented to children with 100% attendance.
All absences must be reported to the school before 09:00 each day and followed up with medical evidence. Medical evidence can be a letter, text, prescription or prescribed medicate with a named label. Where possible, please bring your child to school before and after their appointment. Attendance is monitored by the Inclusion Team and should your child's attendance become a cause for concern they may request that a Fixed Penalty Notice (fine) be issued. We would like to encourage all children to have an attendance figure above 96.5% and we are here to help support you and your child in achieving this. Therefore, please feel free to contact us for any support that you think you may need.
